Re : SafeNet USB Driver for Windows 10 64-bit

Hello Sergey,

Thanks for the reply.

As you mentioned, the operational admin control center page suggests that the runtime drivers were installed.
However, the keys seems unable to communicate with the license manager since they are not appearing on the portal.
Hence, this appears to be a environment specific concern. Kindly be advised to raise it with our support team at our support portal at https://supportportal.gemalto.com/csm/ .

Thanks,

I am having same issue on a Windows 2016 server with an HASP HL Pro key (USB 1.02).

Installed the latest HASP LDK Run-time 7.80.   No problems with driver installation.

Device Manager shows "Sentinel Hardlock Key" and "Sentinel USB Key".

Device Manager does not show "Sentinel HASP Key".

When viewing in web browser at address "localhost:1947", the Sentinel Admin Control Center does not recognize that the HASP key is connected.

The same HASP key works fine with HASP LDK Run-time 7.41 installed on a Windows 2008 R2 server.

Is this the case of the vendor using a legacy HASP3 or HASP4 library that the latest license manager no longer supports or is this a Windows 10 driver problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ken,

Old libraries be face problems in accessing the key but shouldn't cause any issue in key detection in device manager/Admin Control Center.

Please check and share the following details-
  1. "USB 1.02" is this the firmware of the key?
  2. Are you able to see the key in Admin Control Center on Windows 2008 R2 machine? Does it show three entries in device manager?
  3. Open Admin Control Center page and place the pointer where the key is shown. This should show some additional information about the key hardware. Share the screenhsot.
  4. Disconnect the key from Windows 2016 machine and uninstall the drivers using command line installer (haspdinst.exe). Open CMD with admin rights and execute this command:   haspdinst.exe -purge
  5. Now install again with the following command:   haspdinst.exe -i
  6. Check if it works fine

Ashish

Thanks for your feedback Ashish.

To address your points...

1. The USB key firmware is version 3.25.   The "USB 1.02" refers to the server detecting the USB key/dongle as a USB 1.x device.

2a. Yes, I am able to see the key in Admin Control Center on the Windows 2008 R2 server.  See attached screenshot.

2b. Yes, there are (3+) entries in device manager on the Windows 2008 R2 server.  See attached screenshot.

3. The attached screenshot shows the additional information when the mouse is hovered over the key icon.

4. Ran haspdinst.exe -purge on the Windows 2016 server (Operation successfully completed).

5. Ran haspdinst.exe -i on the Windows 2016 server (Operation successfully completed).

After un-installing/re-installing using command line approach, the issue still persists.  The USB is detected in device manager (with the exception of the "HASP Key" entry), however, the License Manager is unable to detect the USB key or vice-versa.

Hi Ken,

I am unable to replicate the behavior with Windows 2016 and PRO Key (v3.25). Its detected correctly on my side.
Please check if the problem persists on your side with multiple keys and multiple windows 2016 Machines.

The issue at your end would need detailed investigation. Please contact us on our support portal https://supportportal.gemalto.com/csm/ to take it further.

Hello NItirat,

Thanks for raising the concern.

Please find your answers on the raised points below.

1) I want to Envelop programs. When I select "Sentinel Vendor Code" I found DEMO file "DEMOMA.hvc" I have no idea how I can select (Browse ) my vendor code?

The vendor code needs the be introduced with the introduction of master key. The vendor code ".hvc" would get generated upon the successful introduction of the master key. The same can be used with the Sentinel Envelope for protection.

2) In "Sentinel Master wizard" I have no idea how can I have login username/password.

The username/password for master wizard is same as of Sentinel EMS. The default username is "admin" and its password is also "admin".
I am attaching a template demonstrating the process of master key introduction. It might help as a reference.

However, if you still face any issues or have any queries then please ask your distributor to reach our support team to open a case for your assistance.

Thanks,
Parth Kaushik

Hello,

I managed to get vendor code by following your instruction. I have 2 HL Time. Will you please provide related  document/user guide/example on how to config HL time "to set expiration time"?

Thank you.

Hello Nitirat,

Thanks for the response.

Based on your query, I am sharing another template to demonstrate the process for burning an HL key.
Here we need to select the required "expiration date based" option in the step of "configuring license terms".

Here, we would require to provide the end date in the "expiration date" tab.

You may consider to schedule a basic training on the Sentinel LDK SDK. Otherwise, you could alternatively choose to go through the training videos available for user's learning.

For this, kindly reach your distributor/provider to facilitate the same.

Kindly feel free to let me know if any further help is needed.

Thanks,
Parth Kaushik

Hi, since last Windows 10 update (1803), I cannot use my MS-DOS programs that needs a HASP4 device, I tryed the last driver but I noticed it doesnt have the haspdos.sys file that goes in \windows\system32.

I have paste a copy of haspdos.sys from an older hasp installer and added the line "device=%SystemRoot%\system32\haspdos.sys" to config.nt but just keep getting the next error and cannot see the device.

What can I do, it have been working without fail for the last 5 years but it just dont work anymore.

P.D. Sorry, I'm not very fluent with English

Hello, is it possible to read Sentinel SuperPro hardware keys directly using the HASP api (hasp_login)?
And if so, how to get the vendor key out of the Sentinel SuperPro hardware key?

Best Regards
