Re : Imaged computer lab no longer talks to license server

The license and key reside on a separate computer in a secure location (our server room). The Lab computers should all be identical and point to the machine FQDN in the server closet for their license. The license server is running windows 7 and only the optitex software and security components. The lab machines have the optitex and many other software packages. I use one of these lab computers to install updated software each semester, then capture a copy to the hard drive using a cloning utility. this time we used AOMEI, last time it was Ghost (both with same result). When that image is placed on the remaining lab machines and they are renamed to be unique, they will no longer see the license server.
I did see something in another conversation about clone detection and some software switch...does this apply here?

Thanks for any insight.

Hello Melinda,

Thanks for the response.

The issue seems to be related with the identical parameters in the cloned machines which may be conflicting with communication with the license server.

We recommend you to kindly open a support incident for this concern by writing us at technical.support@gemalto.com for further levels of investigation.

Also, please mention what parameters you have changed in the cloned machines in-order to "rename it for being unique" (like machine hostname etc ).

This should be helpful to determine the root cause behind the behavior.

Quartz Report Scheduler not running

Dear Support Team
I am trying to schedule reports from "Scheduled Reports","Reports" in the EMS Menu without sucess. However I can sent the scheduled reports manually to email via the "Run Now" action. I am using the latest Sentinel LDK 7.5 package.
Checking the ems_error.log shows that Scheduled Report Manager has an error in creating scheduler job because of an SQL Exception "Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'IS_VOLATILE', table 'EMSDB.dbo.QRTZ_TRIGGERS'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails". Attached the main portion of the error log.
Many thanks for your help.

Error SNTL_LG_MASTER_FEATURE_NOT_FOUND when creating a new HASP HL licence using the API

Hello,

I am trying to build a C/C++ program that will create licences for new HASP keys using the Sentinel LDK API.

I have prepared the code following the samples and I believe that it should work as intended. However,  when I am trying to apply the licence using

sntl_lg_generate_license()

I receive the error  SNTL_LG_MASTER_FEATURE_NOT_FOUND.

The PC in which the code is running has the new HASP HL and the Master Vendor keys attached. As far as I know, there is no Developer key available to us, as the protection framework could have been purchased a long time ago (I believe it was Aladdin at the time).

Anyone has any ideas about this?

Thank you very much.

Hello Kostas,

Thanks for raising the concern.

It seems like the counts in the sentinel master key required for license generation has been consumed.

However to make sure, kindly share these below details:

1- Type of license being created (whether its SL or HL license).
2- Open Sentinel Admin Control Centre ( http://localhost:1947/_int_/devices.html ), connect the master key and take the snapshot of all the features under "fetaures" tab of master key in "sentinel keys" page.

Looking forward for the response.

Hi. I would like to protect some of the autolisp files (*.lsp) and microsoft access (*.accde). I have Sentinel LDK starter kit. I would like to add files using envelope  but, the file extensions are restricted. Is there any possibility to protect files with extensions *.lsp and *.accde?

Best Regards,

Thank you for your prompt reply!

I was not aware that there is a finite number of licence generations. What would be the remedy for this?

Details follow, as requested:

1. I am trying to create an HL licence (<enforcement_type>HL or SL-AdminMode</enforcement_type> as <enforcement_type>HL</enforcement_type> alone would not work).

2. The "Features" section of the master key as output from the Admin Control Centre

Thank you for your help!

.Net WPF Application does not run after Envelope

I have some .Net Windows Presentation Foundation WPF applications to envelope.

Once I envelope the application it is not running anymore.

The error is DispatcherUnhandledException.

I tested that the original application works.

I observed that the application exe file was recognized (or enveloped) as standard win 32 application - not .net???

Any clue?

I use Sentinel LDK Envelope v 7.4.1.59017

Hello Kostas,

Thanks for sharing the screenshot.

However, this doesn't appears to be from "Sentinel Master Key" dongle and instead it appears to be "HASP HL" license dongle.

To clear this confusion, please share the "Sentinel Keys" page screenshot for this key as well.

In-case If the license generation features have expired then the only way forward is to get the master key refilled with counts and you may need to get in touch with sales for the same.

best regards,

Parth Kaushik

Hello Parth,

I was not aware that such keys had an expiration date. I will be talking with a Gemalto representative, if needed.

I attach the "Sentinel Keys" screenshot. The key is the one before the last (Blue) and it is referred to as "Sentinel HASP Master".

The key itself reads: HASP SRM Master.

I hope this cleas up things a bit?  Thank you very much.

Best regards,
Kostas

Identifying Unknown Keys

I have two hardware keys that are used to license unknown pieces of software. One is an older Aladdin HASP HL USB key, and the other is a green Sentinel SafeNet key not much larger than a USB port. There are no serial numbers or other markings on these keys. Is there a way to extract vendor information from these, or at least identify which software developer they were sold to?

Hello Kostas,

Thanks for the update.

From the shared screenshot and the detail provided, it appears like the HASP master is blank and doesn't contain the features required for operations.

Any master key comes with certain features according with modules required for the customer's operation.

Kindly mention to gemalto representative that you require to program the dongle with the features.

Please share if we can conclude the thread.

Best regards,

Parth Kaushik

Hi Kyle,

Thanks for your query.

Please be informed that there is not much vendor information which you can get through HL keys without their serial numbers. Kindly share the color/type of older HASP HL Key?

To know the vendor id/Batch code of Sentinel HASP HL keys:

- Download and Install the Sentinel HASP/LDK drivers from below mentioned link:

- Connect the HL keys with the machine.
- Open the Admin Control Center ( http://localhost:1947/_int_/devices.html ) and check if you are able to see both the keys. The Vendor information (Vendor ID, Batch code), Key id should be visible there.

Hope this helps !

Feel free to get back to me.
