Customer finds "Sentinel key not found (H0007)

I bundle a trial license haspdinst.exe installer that lasts for 60 days, my installer program effectively runs the command. 

How can I troubleshoot this? What are the probable causes for this error?

Hi Sergio,

Thanks for sharing the concern. To troubleshoot further, kindly share the below information:

Application is protected with the same feature or not?
Is there any License installed?
Please share the ACC Screenshot also.
What is the version of RTE we are using?
        Please make sure that Application protection and License Generation is done using the same batch code.

Yes it's protected with the same feature. My installer ran haspdinst.exe -i, but no message other than the topic's title showed.

If I run "haspdinst.exe -info" I get Drivers version 7.41.

Is ACC installed in the client machine? How can I make sure? It is a trial (unlocked) license

Sentinel HL Pro key not network-enabled

Hello,

We have some HL Pro keys for purchased software (Strakon). We recently discovered the Sentinel Admin Control Center on our computers.

We want to investigate if it is possible to use these keys from a remote server with SACC.

When I go to the SACC -> Configuration -> Acces from Remote Clients tab, we have the 'Currently, a network-enabled Sentinel protection key is not connected to this License Manager' message.

The key is plugged in and at Device Manager I see the Sentinel HASP, HL and USB keys.

Is it just not possible to do this with these Strakon keys or are we missing something to get this working?

Hi Donny,

Hope you are keeping well.

I would like to inform, you are using Sentinel Pro key that is kind of local key so we can not use same as network key. You have already seen am warning message in Sentinel Admin control center "Currently, a network-enabled Sentinel protection key is not connected to this License Manager".

Please contact your vendor for network key.

Allow to run while key is removed

Hi 

I am new to LDK so please bare with me if question have been answered before. 

We plan to use LDK v7.5 to Licensee a client server installation.

We will install a network license  ( with a hardware key) on a server . The clients must then request licenses from the server. 

Clients and server checks for valid license and features on startup.

Is it possible to generate a license that would allow the clients and servers to start up for a period of time (x number of days) in case that the dongle is removed from the server or due to other circumstances are unavailable?

If yes.   How should we make the license?

Thank you for your quick response.

It was my understanding that i could obtain the functionality by implementing a grace period like in Working with Grace Licenses  but I did not find any information on how to implement the actual licencing method. All other links on grace period seems to point to either trailware or cloud licenses.

Grace Licenses is a part RMS licensing. In LDK-EMS, we do not have same type of functionality.

Secure storage for SL-Admin

We have a client who previously had been issued a SL-Admin licence for our product who claims to have formatted his hard drive and lost the licence.

They now want us to issue a new licence (at our cost) and have sent a fingerprint file. How do we check that the licence has actually been lost, and that they are not trying to scam us to get a second licence? Is it possible to reissue the original licence as we have the v2c that was issued to them at the time and the corresponding c2v, everything handled through the LDK API (as we don't use the EMS).

Please follow the initial instructions and share further details on our support email address ‘technical.support@gemalto.com’ or ‘crmprod@gemalto.com’ for further investigation:

1. Confirm the type of format performed by customer on the problemactic machine (High Level formatting or low level formatting).

2. Share the 'clone protection type' which you have specified in the Product of generated license.

3. Try to apply the base V2C file provided earlier and share the error screenshot received at customer's machine.

Error from protection key

Hello

I am facing the following problem. I have a mac mini running el capitan , i have installed the latest drivers from the website but when i open my software (Dynastrip) i get the following error message
"Error from protection key! Could not find the protection key. Please check your connection"
I have tested my key and is working ok any idea why this is happening?

Hello Pentelis,

Thanks for raising the concern.

From the shared description, we assume that you are using the latest released version of "Sentinel System Drivers" v7.5.4.

Please correct if the above observation is not correct.

Kindly confirm a few details to check the cause behind the issue :

1- Confirm if the key is visible under system information ( available under location /applications/utilities/)
2- Check if the issue pesists on all the ports.
3- Check if the issue persists with any other mac machine or any other version before "El Captain".

Imaged computer lab no longer talks to license server

We use the Sentinel license Manager with the HASP USB dongle to secure one of our programs in a large computer lab at our university. This weekend I used a prototype image and cloned it to all of the computers in the room. Now only the prototype will see the license server. The rest say Sentinel LDK Protection System error upon login saying "Sentinel key not found (H0007)". I have talked the the software people, but they did not have any solutions for me except to turn off the server and reimage the lab. Can someone come up with another way for me to solve this? Please? I have attached the diagnostics reports from the computer that will attach and one that will not. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for raising the concern.

 

We need some more clarification on the term prototype you have cloned, as mentioned.

 

Have you cloned the OS where license manager was installed to other machines?

 

This may help us investigate the issue.

 

As key is visible in the diagnostic report, its license should be accessible ideally.
