Does IP Change in a VM Setup trigger cloning?

Hello everyone,

May I please ask if changing an IP address on a VM server environment will trigger cloning?

I’ve checked below

Based on my initial understanding – clone triggers are due to physical hardware changes (Hard drive serial number and Motherboard ID).

But on the diagram above, I thought since IP address is part of the Custom Scheme for clone protection – I reckon it also triggers cloning?

Can you please clarify when the change of an IP address will trigger a cloning?

Coz its not really highlighted in the information cheat sheet - but I have a few more other queries:

- If one is to use the same vDisk for separate virtual machines, would that trigger cloning?

- How likely is it to trigger clone protection if the drive is the system drive?

- How likely is it to trigger clone protection if it's a data drive then?

- Will a change on the actual host cluster cluster trigger a cloning?

- How does snapshot trigger a cloning?

Please advise.

Thanks!
