Dear User,

Thank you for raising the concern.

At customer end, the sentinel run-time environment along with the license is needed to be installed.
The run-time environment should be bundled with the vlib file for the production batch.

Please take reference from below link and let us know if clarification is needed for it.

It is not mentioned whether we have HL or SL type of license to be used.
However, If you need explanation on process of how to create license(HL or SL) then please take the reference from the attached templates.

SafeNet Dual USB Not Recognized in Windows 7

Hello,

Need help on the SafeNet Dual USB issue, I tested in several different computers using Windows 7 32 & 64-bit including Windows XP. The SafeNet Dual USB unable to recognized after using around less than 30 min. It was noticeable the USB missing from the device manager and the light is still showing and sometimes dont. Unplug and plug in again telling me the USB not recognized in Windows 7 and Windows XP.

I also tested using newer machine and clean installed Windows 7 32bit which the sales representive wanted us to do. Install the latest Sentinel drivers and the enroute software. The SafeNet Dual USB still lost its connection after using the drawing software for less than 30 min.

I already contact the sales representative but they insisting our Windows 7 installation have problem and preventing us purchase new replacement. Are there anything troubleshooting method to proved the SafeNet USB have problem?

I forget to mention the fresh installed windows 7 do not have any anti-virus. The sales representative also tested and show us the USB has no problem hardkey using in Windows 10. Anyhting I should look into?

Hi Heena,

We never install Sentinel HASP/LDK Windows GUI Run-time Installer 7.80 before and never told by the sales person. The current Dell PC is using in Windows 7 for almost 4 years but it just suddenly not working. The drivers we use are Sentinel Protection version 7.6.8.

The total list of all files to distrubute to customer computer during setup.

Same as above issue mention.
The SafeNet Dual USB unable to recognized after using around less than 30 min. It was noticeable the USB missing from the device manager and the light is still showing and sometimes dont.
We decided to take risk paying for new replacement because we wasted too many days on the testing using different systems, fresh install Windows and using latest drivers above. We still do not have any clue why the SafeNet Dual USB worked only less than 30 min, wont detect in other PC and disappear from the device list.

The worst is the enroute salesman unable to produce the problem we facing and working fine from their side.

RNBOsproGetVersion()

In my code I am calling 

status = RNBOsproGetVersion(ApiPacket,&a,&b,&c,&d);

and status has always come back as 0 meaning the drivers are installed.

However when I download and install Sentinel Protection Installer 7.6.9 and run the same code...

status = RNBOsproGetVersion(ApiPacket,&a,&b,&c,&d)

status comes back as 12 which is the code for drivers not installed.

When I run the Sentinel AdvancedMedic utility it shows that the drivers are installed.

Can you please help me understand why RNBOsproGetVersion() is returning 12 when I install the new drivers. If I go back to Sentinel Protection Installer 7.6.8 everything works fine.

I am running Windows 7.

NB: We are getting this error on Windows 1803, and assumed it was related to 1803 (does not occur for earlier win 10s), similar good - bad pattern.

=> IF (and a big if) this is related, does your Windows 7 have some APril or MAy security patch updates ?

Thanks for reaching out to Gemalto.

I hope you may be aware that the Sentinel Protection Installer 7.6.9 Package contains Sentinel System Driver 7.6.0
As part of testing, could you please choose custom installation, install Parallel drivers as shared in attached screenshot and share if it helps?

Additionally, please share the complete details of Windows 7 update which is currently installed at your end.

Note: Similar issue has been reported with SuperPro but only over Windows 10 update 1803. Therefore, we would like to investigate your case further.

Thank you for your reply. Installing the Parallel Driver seemed to fix it on our Windows 7 machine. 

We are having the same issue on a Windows 10 machine. My co-workers will be testing this fix on that machine tomorrow and I will let you know the results. 

In the mean time I have attached for you 2 screen shots of the most recent updates to this Windows 7 machine. Let me know if you would like to see updates going back further.

Thanks for sharing the update.

It's good to know that the problem with Windows 7 has been resolved after installing parallel drivers. I would like to inform that in Sentinel System drivers 7.6.0, we have provided choice to install parallel drivers unlike USB system drivers which gets installed by default.  Therefore, its Not the case with issue similar to Windows 10 update 1803.

I shall wait for your test results with Windows 10 machine.

My collegue already has a 1803 ticket with you on this and will have updated you.

The issue resolved to use of manifests in a 8.1+ environment and how this affects the windows getversion api call. I am not sure why 1803 made a difference from before.

So our issue unlikely to be Luke's issue.

Gaurav - That fix did not work for the Windows 10 machine. The Windows 10 machine has update 1803 on it.

As far as the parallel driver not getting installed by default, is there a command line option that would allow us to force it during the install?

We have always used RNBOsproGetVersion() to see if the drivers are present and if it returns 0 we proceed normally. It now seems if the USB driver is present but the parallel driver is not present this function is returning 12 (driver not found). 

Does the API provide a way to search for a specific driver? In other words if it does not find the parallel driver can we look for the USB driver?

Software does not recognize HASP HL dongle license information

Hi Currently we have the following issue :

We use ZEN software from Carl Zeiss with a Sentinel HL PRO key.

Up until the last week this was working but now the software does not recognize the license information anymore .

we tested the following :

- Check localhost:1947 page , HASP HL pro is recognized.

- Reinstalled drivers

- Connected to a different usb port

The software gives the following error message : Keine lizenz verfugbar 1003

My questions :

could the HASP dongle lose specific license information

What diagnostics tools are available ?

What is the most suitable driver for a Sentinel HL pro version 4.31 , where can I download this.

How could I restore data on the dongle without having to request a new dongle ?
