The issue has been reported by one of our customer. He deployed our product (which uses HASP for licensing) on a new Win 10 machine. Our product was working as expected, accessing license information just fine, until customer ran Windows Update which applied multiple security patches and performed also a Windows feature update (to 1809). From this moment, our product was not able to access license information anymore. It was like the windows update uninstalled the driver.
Fortunately, we ask our customer to reinstall the HASP driver which fixed the issue. Also, our QA team has been able to reproduce the issue by first installing our product on a clean Win10 (1607) then performing only a feature update to 1809.
Usually, our customer does not perform Windows feature update on their production server, but we would like to have a more definite way to address this than putting in our knowledge base the need to repair the driver installation when the issue appears. Is this a known issue with HASP driver? And if so, is it something already fixed or that will be fixed in a future version?
